Facial Sunblock
Oh My GOSH! Finding facial sunblock when you have Rosacea can be a chore. (SEE PRODUCTS THAT WORK FOR ME BELOW) What worked fine last year, may cause me to react this year. I’m always on the lookout for products like Rosacea sunscreen, but let’s face it, it’s just about trying out a bunch of different things. Often times it’s not even the active ingredients that cause a problem, but the inactive ingredients like fragrance and stuff.
I was looking for facial sunscreen that would work for ME. A simple sunscreen lotion that would allow me to feel like I’m not putting paste on my face, and would offer me protection and not cause me to breakout like crazy. I’ve found two that are working for me. I want to say this…what works for me – may not work for you. In fact, while one of the products is Neutrogena, I tried 3 different similar Neutrogena products that didn’t work for me (ex:the healthy aging one with spf, sensitive skin, etc)….it’s not about one brand, it’s not about one ingredient…you need to try something for a few days, because what works today – well, 3 days later, wham!
This is what is currently working for me. They have it in both 55+ and 70+…I’m using the 55+ without a problem right now. I love how super lightweight it feels and it’s nice under my make-up:
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock SPF 55 – 1.4 oz.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock SPF 70+, 1.4-Ounce (Pack of 2)
While this next product is not a specific “Rosacea Sunblock” I’ve been having pretty decent results with it. I’ve used both the liquid drops listed above – especially if I’ll be outside a lot, but as a moisturizer with SPF in it, I’ve also had some success with this Aveeno product:
Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 – 4 oz.
Lastly, I found this neat compact which offers 50+ SPF! It’s been non-reactive with my skin and does a nice job of not only toning down my redness but offering me protection. The best part is that it does double duty and it’s not expensive!
Physicians Formula Healthy Wearâ„¢ SPF 50 Powder Foundation – Creamy Beige
The best part is all of the products listed are all under $20…most fall in the $10+ dollar range – think $10-$15 and are super easy to find. Your local stores carry them all, or you can grab them through here – just click on the link or picture for more info and pricing. *all the links lead to Amazon
